Today is a rest day in Ushuaia, and a workshop has been organised for the guys to take their cars & put them on the hoists & do an oil change, grease whatever they can & generally check the cars over. Michael didn’t change our oil but he did tighten up a lot of things that had rattled loose & greased the king pins etc. Also they had compressed air so the dust got blasted out from everywhere. We also washed the car inside & out, so it’s clean for a couple of days. I must say it’s nice not to be on the dusty roads, my eyes aren’t liking all the dust & we keep sneezing all the time. The other day as we were scooting along, there was a continuous cloud of dust coming in the back of the passenger window. We have a few more dirt roads to go yet though. We caught up on some domestic chores & then went into town and parked our nice clean cars in the main street again. Once again drawing a crowd. We bumped into an old neighbour of ours, David, who is not old really he’s only 30. He’d just got back from 3 weeks in Antarctica, so it was great to catch up with him and hear about his adventures over a beer. Ushuaia is renowned for it’s crab so for dinner we went to a crab restaurant overlooking the harbour & mountains. The crab was delicious as was the Mendoza Malbec. Ushuaia was all lit up in town and quite lively at 10pm on a Sunday evening.
