10th January 2015 – On the road to San Javier

We left the hotel in Vina del Mar at 8:30 mostly driving on the motor way.  We had a long morning tea stop at a local holiday camping spot on a river where we attracted a crowd of adults & children all fascinated by our trip.We arrived at our overnight stop – Tabanko Guest House in the Gilmore Winery just out of San Javier at about 4pm and we all collapsed into the swimming pool for an hour with a glass of Rose or Cabernet to cool off as it had been a hot day’s drive.   The owner Andres gave us all a talk about the wine they produced & then gave us a tasting, complimented by rabbit empanadas. We then had a lovely dinner and an early night.
