This morning before we leave on our 449 km drive to Apeldoorn we drive into the old township of Lubeck.<\/p>\n

The buildings are mostly built from a red brick and they’re just lovely.\u00a0 It’s Sunday morning so it’s very quiet in the streets until the church bells start ringing and there are a lot of them scattered around the town.<\/p>\n

The city gates and the canal are really beautiful.<\/p>\n

\"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

At every turn it seems there is yet another church with beautiful bells chiming.<\/p>\n

We sit in a square behind the town hall and an oompah band comes along the street and stops in the square.\u00a0 The band players look resplendent in their uniforms covered in medals.<\/p>\n

After trying the local chocolate that they’re famous for we get on the road to Apeldpoorn.\u00a0 There is a lot of traffic on the motorway as it is a Sunday and school holidays and there are roadwork diversions.\u00a0 We decide to get off the motorway and drive on the country roads through the small villages which is much more enjoyable as it is quite hot and we at least keep moving.<\/p>\n

We arrive at our bed & breakfast in the early evening, which gives us just enough time to settle in with a cup of tea, shower and walk around the corner to a hotel for dinner.\u00a0 The B&B is in a beautiful treed part of Apeldoorn that is very quiet.<\/p>\n
