After arriving at our hotel in Bang Saem at about 8:30 am we were too early to get access to our room so we went for a stroll along Bang Saem beach which is wall to wall umbrellas that are shading tables & deck chairs. 
There are food stalls offering all manner of BBQ’d seafood that look & smell fantastic. However we aren’t tempted to try any of it as it is all sitting out in the heat of the day before it’s cooked.
On the promenade is a Chinese temple which seems to be dedicated to the the rooster, as it is of course “The year of the rooster”.
